¿Cómo estáis?

I now show you some photos of Madrid-- the city and its sights. Most of these were taken during our weekend trip. I was planning on creating a Multiply account but, too bad, the site is blocked here in the office. I've downsized the photos a bit so downloading wouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Madrid is a very busy city. It's flooded with all sorts of people. It's summer now so more people flock the streets. The condition is is very different from Ciudad Real, where it's quiet and much less populated. Plus, there are many tourists in Madrid. We've come across several Filipinos in the city. A couple even asked us where the nearest bank was. They said they were from Paris, which made me envious, of course. But no worries, I'm thinking of going to France next month! :)

First up are photos of random buildings. Most of them are built the same way, about five to ten floors high with intricate architecture. Very European.

There are quite a number of these kinds of people on the streets of Madrid. They don't move unless you drop a coin or two in front of them. That last one is a real statue, by the way :D

This landmark is the origin of all distances in Spain, Km 0. Much like the one in Luneta. It's located in Puerta del Sol, a few blocks from where we stayed.

Every city's got a Plaza Mayor. Here's the one in Madrid.

Summer means sale! One of the few words I like most in Spain-- Rebajas! This is taken from a street lined up with shops. You can see El Corte Ingles and Sfera in this photo.

This double deck bus is for tourists. I think you have to pay 30€ for a ride around Madrid. ¡Muy caro!

I don't know the significance of this statue, but it's supposed to be important. I'm with Argel in this photo. See him standing beside the tree?

This is Yelmo Cineplex. They show movies in English with Spanish subtitles here. Here's where we watched Transformers.

There are lots more to follow but i don't have the time :)
