Only two hours and a couple of minutes left before my year's favorite holiday begins.
It's Christmas eve once again and I am quite happy with all the happenings here and there-- minus my senior project problems, sniffles, sore throat, financial mishaps, overcrowded bedroom, still unusable PS2, broken printer head, and sister's mysterious illness.
There are, of course, things I am excited about: Barangay Ginebra Kings clinching the very first semis berth in the PBA (Somebody's gonna wear my Gin Kings shirt pretty soon!), my other sister getting a new mobile phone, faster DSL connection plus new PC, the Los Angeles Lakers winning even without Lamar, the Philippine Peso's ground getting stronger, and other secret stuff.
But out of all the ruckus this Christmas season, one thing that's making me wonder the most is the metro-wide (if not nationwide) encroachment of a particular melody from a famous noon-time show. You guessed it right.

Boom-tarat-tarat!
Boom-tarat-tarat!
Tararat! Tararat!

I mean, what the heck?! What's with this song that makes it so darn popular? I don't hate hate it or anything, but it's just unbelievable. Jeepneys honking, traffic enforcers whistling, kids Christmas caroling, drum-and-lyre bands beating, grandmothers dancing-- all to the tune of this song. I don't even recall how many times I've heard this tune played outside our house just for this one day! Is it the ease of singing or those dance moves that drive these people into craze? I can't say for sure. Hell, even I do it for fun...

I got presents for most people this year. Nothing fancy, though. For concrete instances, I'll be giving my sisters- clothing, my mom- that Pond's Anti-age Miracle Cream (or something of that sort; my sisters bought and wrapped it for me), my dad- a Colgate 360 toothbrush (he would like to have a new toothbrush, he says), and for myself- nothing XD. Poor me.
Anyway, I still think that if you give something, however small it is, you'd get something back in return. Maybe you'd get a small thing, too (or even smaller), but you would get something back. Tangible or not. So I can't wait 'til midnight.
To all, have a Blessed Christmas!

Boom! Boom! Boom!
